Nationals of Afghanistan residing in Germany, especially those living in Bavaria (Bayren) and Baden-Württemberg, who lack identification documents, such as a Tazkira or National Passport, and need proof of identity for German authorities, can apply for a Confirmation of Identity at this Consulate.
Tazkira issuance is currently unavailable; therefore, this service cannot be provided at this time.
Important Information and Instructions
- The applicant must visit the Consulate in person. This document cannot be processed or issued in the absence of the applicant or via post or online.
- Important: Applicants must book an appointment in advance using the following link: [Termin].
Visiting the Consulate without an appointment is not permitted. - Applications are accepted during the Consulate’s official working days and hours.
Required Documents
To apply for the Confirmation of Identity, the following documents are required:
- Copy of your own Tazkira and copies of the Tazkiras of two immediate family members: The applicant must provide a copy of his/her own Tazkira and copy of two immediate family members e.g: Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, or Cousin (from the father’s side).
- Proof of German Resident Permit: The applicant must provide a copy of his/her Aufenthaltstitel/Personalausweis [Sample] (both side – showing the name and address of the holder).
- Supporting Documents: issued by Afghan authorities prior to residing in Germany: e.g: Diplomas, voting IDs, military service IDs, etc.
- Two Passport-Size Photographs: The applicant must provide twp recently taken photos with a white background [Sample].

Issuance of the Document
The document will be issued on the same day after the completion of the following steps:
In-Person Interview: Applicants must attend a mandatory interview at the Consulate, where their identity will be verified based on the submitted documents and information provided during the application.
Fee: The fee for the Confirmation of Identity is €70. Payments can be made via bank card. Please note that credit cards are not acceptable.
Same-Day Issuance: Once all requirements are met, the document will be issued on the same day during working hours.
Important Notes
- Document Preparation: Ensure that you bring all required documents with you to avoid delays in processing. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Non-Replacement of National Identification Document: The Confirmation of Identity document is not a substitute for the Afghan Tazkira or passport. It is issued solely for the purpose of confirming the applicant’s identity.
- No Need to Apply If You Hold a Tazkira: Afghan nationals who already possess a valid Tazkira do not need to apply for this document.
- Support for German Authorities: This document is designed specifically to assist Afghan nationals in fulfilling legal or administrative requirements requested by German authorities.
