Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Munich-Germany

Mr. Sifat Rahimee currently serves as Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Munich, Germany and prior to his current appointment, he has worked as the Deputy Chief of Mission – Minister Counsellor for the European Union at the Embassy and Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Rahimee previously worked as the Ministry of Finance’s Chief of Staff – Director General, supervising the Department of Bilateral Economic Commissions, Monitoring and Coordination Directorate, the High Economic Council Secretariat and Directorate for International Affairs. He has also served as Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Education on Programmes Management through the World Bank from 2014 to 2015, Secretary General of Afghanistan’s National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO from 2013 to 2014, Advisor and Executive Assistant to the Minister of Education through the World Bank from 2009 to 2013, National Consultant at USAID, Resource Center Officer at the Office of the President of Afghanistan through the Asia Foundation from 2006 to 2008, and Program Assistant at Coordination of Afghan Relief (CoAR).

Mr. Rahimee holds a Master of Science in Major Programmes Management from the University of Oxford; a Master of Public Policy from Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies; and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University of Afghanistan.
